India is a vast country with several examples of architecture created at different times in the historical past.
The Bharat Virasat project aims to Document, Protect, and Promote India's magnificent heritage by documenting these architectural marvels, including digital twins, detailed photographs, and expert commentaries on these monuments, to best showcase the region's rich history and heritage.

• Create Awareness and Education: Increase public and stakeholder awareness related to documentation, protection, and promotion of Heritage assets through seminars, workshops, and performances. Develop educational programs and collaborate with institutions to integrate heritage conservation into academic curricula.
• Adopt and promote Documentation and Preservation technologies: Utilize technologies like Photography, LiDar scans, photogrammetry, and other evolving technologies to create digital twins of heritage assets. Establish and maintain digital and physical repositories for information, and scale models of heritage structures.
• Provide Support and Collaboration: Provide financial and non-financial support for preservation projects. Collaborate with governmental, non-governmental, and international bodies to further heritage conservation efforts. Recognize and reward contributions to heritage conservation and support the development of tools and technologies for this purpose. To provide fellowships and research grants for activities that further the objectives of the organization.
• Research and Documentation: to document and research practices related to creation and preservation of Heritage Assets such as building, embellishment, and conservation techniques, handicraft styles, and processes, and to propagate the same through seminars, publications, and training.
• Publish information: Make available in print or digital form information related to Heritage Assets including immersive experiences, digital models, point clouds, object files, including maintenance of web-sites with free or regulated access rights.
• Create and maintain physical installations: Create and maintain physical installations and high-fidelity scale models to facilitate learning through interactive and observational experience.

Bharat Virasat was set up as a not-for-profit body in 2024 by individuals passionate about history, art, and architecture.
